Privacy and Confidentiality
All company and personal data stored in BPlace is considered and treated as confidential and proprietary at all times. No company or personal data is copied, communicated, sold or shared with third parties outside BPlace and its trusted affiliates.
The policies documented here are in addition to any policies that may be implemented by a user’s employer. In cases where the employer’s policy conflicts with this policy, or where this policy is more restrictive, then this policy is authoritative. In cases where the customer policy is more restrictive, it must be considered authoritative.
E-mail Policy
In this context, electronic mail (e-mail) refers to all e-mail making use of any BPlace resources, regardless of the source of the e-mail or the owner of the e-mail server being accessed. It includes all aspects of e-mail systems, including client and server software, and even the network equipment and lines on which the messages may travel. If any BPlace resources are being used for the receipt or transmission of e-mail, this policy applies. Usage not mentioned in the following list is considered acceptable.

All e-mail passwords, user accounts, and messages residing on BPlace-owned servers are the property of BPlace and are considered confidential.
Users are not to expect any privacy rights on e-mail messages that make use of BPlace resources. This holds true even if the employee is using third party client software to check e-mail held on a non-BPlace server. If any BPlace resources are in use, even network resources, the contents of e-mails must be considered to be accessible by BPlace and its customer organization.
User e-mail messages can be viewed for the purposes of employee monitoring only with the explicit permission of the BPlace CEO, or an official of the customer with appropriate authority (this authority may need to be verified by the BPlace CEO or other official). Any BPlace employee as chosen by the BPlace CEO or the BPlace CEO may perform the monitoring.
BPlace system administrators and developers may monitor all emails that makes use of BPlace resources for diagnostic, troubleshooting, and performance tuning purposes without special permission.
It is forbidden to use BPlace e-mail resources for the sending of illegal material. E-mail material must conform to the laws of all regions involved in the sending, processing, and receiving of the e-mail.
If the monitoring of e-mail reveals possible criminal activity, the evidence may be given to the appropriate law enforcement officials. The decision to do so may only be made by the BPlace Chief Security Officer or the BPlace CEO, possibly in cooperation with appropriate customer authorities.
It is forbidden to use BPlace e-mail resources to knowingly send harmful electronic payload (such as viruses and worms).
It is forbidden to use BPlace e-mail resources for the sending of unsolicited commercial e-mail ("spam").
It is forbidden to use BPlace e-mail resources for the sending of unsolicited commercial e-mail ("spam").
BPlace reserves the right to block all incoming unsolicited commercial e-mail, as these e-mails have a significant impact on system resources and performance.
Only valid BPlace users have permission to use BPlace e-mail (SMTP) servers for the relaying of e-mail not destined for e-mail addresses hosted on BPlace servers.
It is forbidden to send email that contradicts the policies of the employee’s organization.
It is forbidden to send email containing racist, sexist, or other discriminatory content. |
